I find a certain majesty in trees. Each one unique, each one a living reminder of our past and the potential of a future where nature has recovered from the current onslaught of a war against our planet. There is an old quote all of us should embrace, “The one who plants trees knowing that he or she will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life.” When I do sit beneath the shade of an ancient oak, I am grateful to that tree, and I hope that I can also plant a tree and leave shade for future generations.
