Reed-Turner Nature Preserve / Long Grove, IL

The Reed-Turner Woodland is 36-acre nature preserve. A hidden jewel in the village of Long Grove, Illinois, northeast of Chicago. In 1980, working in conjunction with The Nature Conservancy, the original owner, Barbara Turner and her family, donated the land to the Long Grove Park District. In 2003 I began photographically exploring the wide array of ecosystems and native plants found in this preserve, eventually producing a book titled, 36 Acres, copies of which can be purchased through Epilogue Gallery in Long Grove.
