Portraits

From a personal perspective, any portrait should be more than just a photograph of what someone looks like. The image should offer any viewer a glimpse into the character of the person whose portrait they see, a bit of a reflection of what’s behind the scenes. In this regard, the success of the portrait session relates to choosing the correct background or location, the clothing the person is wearing, and how comfortable the person being photographed is with the photographer. For me, getting to this point entails knowing something about who I see through the lens which is why I enjoy the portrait process so much.
