Hands
While exploring the Metropolitan Museum in New York City, I became fascinated by the hands of the many sculptures on display throughout the museum. I felt that the hands were almost more expressive with regard to emotion than even the faces. It was then I realized the sculptors of these amazing figures were connected to the work by their own hands. I concluded the sculptors’ own emotions were present in the fingers they created, so I began focusing specifically on the hands. Since then I’ve expanding the range to include the Art Institute of Chicago as well.
